• Josh Allen Takes Top Spot: Allen leapfrogged Patrick Mahomes for the No. 1 spot in PFF's MVP simulation following Week 2.

• Lamar Jackson up to No. 5, Tua Tagovailoa Enters Top 10: Jackson and Tagovailoa dueled it out in Week 2, with the Dolphins quarterback coming out victorious despite excellent performances from both players.

• Jalen Hurts Moves to No. 3: After coming in at No. 10 following Week 1, Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is up to No. 3 after a flashy Monday Night Football showing in Week 2.

We learned a lot more in Week 2 about the best quarterbacks of the 2022 NFL season. Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen will be on the shortlist for MVP for a long time, and two other quarterbacks joined said list: Jalen Hurts had an impressive showing on Monday Night Football, while Lamar Jackson shined even in a loss.

Every week throughout the season, we will rank quarterbacks by their estimated MVP chances. These chances are based on simulating the remaining season and looking at individual efficiency stats as well as team success. The full methodology can be found in our initial version of this year’s MVP rankings.
