Color-changing silica gel is an indicator adsorbent with high added value and high technical content,
which is made by deep processing based on fine-pored silica gel, a highly active adsorbent. and a
high-grade desiccant adsorbent.
Its main raw material is a high microporous structure of silica,non-toxic, tasteless, odorless, chemical
stability, with a strong hygroscopicity, which is a high activity adsorption material.
It is now subject to the national industry standard, "blue adhesive indicator, color-changing silica gel
and cobalt-free color-changing silica gel" HG/T 2765.4-2005.
The general production method both at home and abroad for this product is to use microporous silica
gel (pore diameter of 2 -- 3nm, above surface area of 600m2/g) as the carrier, and to use a little bit
cobalt chloride (molecular formula: CoCl2) to be combined on the surface of internal pores of silica gel
through certain process steps.
At present, variable silica gel mainly covers two kinds: blue silica gel and orange silica gel

Use
1. mainly used for absorbing moisture, anti-rusting of instruments,gauges and equipment in the enclosed conditions. After absorbing moisture,it turns fromblue to pink, visually indicating the reletive humidity of the given environments.
2. when being used with ordinary silica gel drier, it indicates to which extent the drier absorbs the moisture
and judges the relative humidity of a given environment. It is widely used as silica gel drier for the packing
of precision instrucments, leathers, shoes, clothers, foodstuffs, medicines and household electric applicances, etc.
